This old coaching inn is housed on Pooles High Street, and has been a popular meeting place through the centuries. It still retains parts of its original 15th century building. Situated conveniently close to Poole Quay, the property was used in the past by horse-drawn coaches as a stop off for Lymington, Southampton, Bath, Bristol, Weymouth and London. This family-friendly hotel was built in 1928 and was originally called Crawford s Tea Rooms. In the war it was used to house serving American airmen. In the early 1950s, an extension was added and it became a bar and hotel. Not long after that, it became a full hotel with 12 en suite rooms, a restaurant and a bar. There is limited complimentary parking on-site and a designated disabled parking space. There is off-road parking in the streets nearby.
