The hotel can comfortably trace its origins back to the 1900s, when the stone walls of the original hotel first graced the banks of Lake Windermere. Throughout the intervening years, the hotel has evolved and grown, timely refurbishments enhancing both the accommodation and the guest experience.
KENDAL ROAD, BOWNESS-ON-WINDERMERE
With its superb views across the Lake and excellent location, this is a lovely place to stay and explore the beauty of the Lake District. The hotel also has an indoor heated swimming pool with sliding roof panels to make the most of the summer sunshine and there is also a sauna and solarium.
The rooms are large and are in a good condition, tastefully and individually modernised, including 2 four poster beds. All are en-suite and all have full facilities.
The Chandelier restaurant has magnificent views: it offers an imaginative selection of traditional English and French cuisine.
The furnishings in the lobby and public areas are all traditional, and the lobby is small.

This hotel is located on the coastline of Windermere and was established in 1800. It is close to the Lake Windermere. The Hotel has a restaurant, 2 bars, a conference room, a coffee shop, an indoor swimming pool and a fitness centre/gym. All 57 rooms are equipped with hairdryer, safe and trouser press.

An excellent Hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the town but within 5 miles of Bowness.
Each of the Hotels bedrooms is individually styled and all have en-suite facilities with bath or shower. Each of the bedrooms offers hospitality tray, remote control television, radio, direct dial telephone and hairdryer. They are on average medium sized.
The Restaurant is medium sized and traditionally decorated. The menu changes daily and offers a wide choice, using locally grown fresh produce whenever possible, much of it from the hotel own farm and Victorian kitchen garden.
The lobby is medium sized with some seating.

A good value family run hotel in an excellent location. The owners of the property are very knowledgeable about the area, particularly Andrew. So if you are interested in seeing some of the more eye catching sites in the area be sure to ask his advice hell be only too pleased to help. He runs the Lakes Supertours from the hotel reception.
All rooms are medium sized and although basic are clean and well presented. All rooms have recently had tea and coffee making facilities added.
There is no restaurant as such although the hotel has a breakfast room which is traditionally furnished.
The lobby is small and to the left of the entrance to the Hotel. You have to ring the door bell to be let in by the owner or his wife. It can often be quite busy as the hotel operates tours of the Lake District by bus which are very popular.
